Qualcomm and Huawei Agree to Broad Patent Cross-Licensing and a U.S. Patent Purchase
The companies’ agreement covers 5G, computing, AI and networking, with completion subject to regulatory approvals.

Qualcomm and Huawei announced a broad, multiyear patent agreement on October 5 covering 5G, computing, artificial intelligence and networking. Alongside cross-licenses to their patent portfolios, the transaction includes Qualcomm’s purchase of certain Huawei patents in the United States. The companies said closing remains subject to necessary regulatory approvals.
