Readers must be able to trust that CI journalists have no hidden stake in what they cover.
Personal investments
Staff may not own individual securities in companies or sectors they cover, and must disclose all holdings to the standards editor. Broad index funds are permitted.
Outside work and gifts
Paid speaking, consulting or writing for organisations we cover requires prior approval. Gifts, travel and hospitality from sources are declined or reimbursed.
Disclosure
Where a relationship could reasonably appear to affect coverage, we disclose it in the article or reassign the story.
