Diesel Hits a Record $6.53 a Gallon as Distillate Stocks Run 12% Below Normal
The national average rose 24 cents in a week and is $2.78 above a year ago, reviving a debate over export restrictions that the energy secretary has publicly rejected.

The U.S. on-highway diesel average reached a record $6.529 a gallon in the Energy Information Administration's survey for the week of Sept. 21, up 24.4 cents from the previous week and $2.78 higher than a year earlier.
