Caterpillar Commits $1 Billion to Expand Compact Equipment Manufacturing in Sanford, North Carolina

The construction-equipment maker will build compact track loaders and telehandlers at the site, but disclosed no job count, no square footage and no production start date.

Caterpillar said it will invest approximately $1 billion to expand compact equipment manufacturing capacity in Sanford, North Carolina, in partnership with the State of North Carolina, Lee County and the City of Sanford.
